It took me three years in an architecture course for me to figure out that architecture was not my calling, but I do not regret the time spent, as it provided me a basic skill set that I could apply to my fashion studies. Well, famous international Italian designer Gianfrance Ferre, who was an architect before influenced towards fashion.
I set out ot find a place that could train me well enough, yet giving me the freedom to work at my own pace and indulge my many other life interests. IFTC was just that I have now been at the college since July 2009, and I have presented my design once on the MIFA/BDA fashion runway. Upcoming will be the Batik Malaysia-International fashion week in mid January 2010, which I am in midst of preparation, as our
principle Mrs. Annie Wong prides herself with being the door-opener for students to have their work publicly.
It takes skill to draft a garment pattern. This is a skill I hope to get good at & hold my sharpest throughout my studies here and thereafter. My direction is towards incorporating fashion with lifestyle & world of entrepreneurship, I am confident IFTC can lead me to it.
